What is Voice to Vision?
Voice to Vision provides a one-year field research and guided mentoring experience for young women with a career interest in peacebuilding. It is rooted in the assumption that some of the most important tools for this work are not merely technical skills, or even content knowledge, as much as qualities of character, ways of seeing, ways of being. Listening with a willingness to be made uncomfortable. Seeing clearly, yet compassionately. Drawing critical conclusions, even when they challenge conventional thinking. These are sensibilities with transformative potential – individually and for the world.
Yet how do we nurture the development of these qualities in aspiring peacebuilders? Beyond the scope of the training afforded in an academic setting, these character traits and sensibilities can best be developed through direct experience and active mentoring. The Fellowship matches this field experience and guided learning with the opportunity to articulate the learning that emerges from it for a broader audience.
